or even your wedding day?!

I LOVE getting the fur babes involved, but sometimes couples can be nervous about what to expect and how to get good photos with them. So I’m dropping my top 5 tips for those must have moments with the fur babes during your engagement session and your wedding day!

ONE:

Let go of the control – Let’s be honest, fur babes are going to do their own dang thing and that’s okay!! It makes for some of the best photos that highlight their personalities and yours!!!

TWO:

Bring LOADS of treats!! Because they deserve them and they will be that much more encouraged to participate!! But really though, treats are great for getting those candid photos of you guys hanging out giving them some lovin’ AND for the photographer to hold near the camera those must have family portraits!

THree:

Bring a favorite toy or two or three! What better way to capture the relationship you have with your fur babes than a little game of fetch! Because your fur babes are your kids and they deserve to have those memories documented too!

FOUR:

Choose a location that they are familiar with! If your dogs are comfortable and so are you, it makes for that much better of a session!! Choose a spot you love and take a few trips out there before your session to help get the pups familiar with the area.

FIVE:

Have fun! You AND the dogs!! I ALWAYS encourage my couples to be unapologetically them and I am going to encourage you to do the same with the fur babes! Let them run, hang out, dig, grab the stick, and just have fun with it! We’ll absolutely get those for family portraits with them, but the memories of you all hanging out and having fun are the ones you’ll remember down the road!
