A lot has been happening over here in the world of Olivia Katherine Photography!! So we thought we’d give you all a little update!

At the beginning of this year, we took it slow diving into our behind the scenes process and gearing up for a busy wedding season ahead! April kicked off our wedding season with a wedding film up in Decorah and a two week road trip up the East Coast.

Our road trip started off a bit bumpy, but it made for some wild memories! I was set to drive the 17 hours from a wedding in Wisconsin to Charleston, SC where Christian was flying into meet me. But I hit a snag when I got food poisoning and had to make an emergency stop in Lexington, KY. Yikes! There was no way I was driving anywhere so Christian flew into Lexington to get me to my wedding in Charleston by the weekend. We made it with a few days to spare, relax, and photograph an oceanside engagement session for a couple I met on Instagram! We loved visiting the Waterfront at Shem Creek and ate at two delicious restaurants, Tavern and Table and Shem Creek Crabhouse.

Then came the reason we made the trip to South Carolina in the first place! The wedding was absolutely beautiful! It was an intimate 50 person brunch celebration amongst the palm trees and the ocean breeze at Wild Palms Resort in Isle of Palms, SC. Hands down, one of the most memorable weddings I have captured and I can’t wait to celebrate with more couples in the Charleston area.

Post wedding we made our trip up to my sisters place to celebrate the upcoming arrival of my future niece/nephew and it was so great to meet her friends and see family we haven’t seen in 6 years!

Next stop on our trip was New York City! We photographed a Brooklyn engagement session for one of our August couples who live in NYC, but is celebrating with their friends and family back here in Iowa!

Six months into the year and we’ve spent the first part traveling and capturing 9 weddings, 6 engagement sessions, and a few small senior and family sessions here and there! I, Olivia, have one more wedding this month and then I am on a hiatus for the month of July to spend time with my family!! We are back in gear starting at the end of July through the end of the year. However we do get to take a week off to celebrate 10 years together!!

So very excited for what is to come!! We are actively booking for small sessions this year and 2023 weddings!!
